Pablo Fallabrino, El Elefante Pisador 2023

Pablo Fallabrino is a laid-back, good-natured Uruguayan surfer turned winemaker; his winery is located where the River Plate, the widest river in the world, meets the Atlantic Ocean. Pablo's approach is not to overthink the winemaking process; instead, he runs with his instincts, takes chances and makes extraordinary wines with his own personal signature. El Elefante Pisador (meaning "the trampling elephant") 2023 is a lovely, bold and aromatic orange wine made from 100% Gewürztraminer. The nose delivers rose petal, dried apricot and ginger spice in a textured, amber-hued frame. On the palate, there's grip and intrigue from the tannins, balanced by lifted florals and a savoury, tea-like finish. Unusual, expressive and seriously moreish - perfect for adventurous palates.
